April is STD Awareness Month
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) remain a major public health challenge in the U.S. and disproportionally affect certain racial and ethnic groups, including American Indian and Alaska Native people. The IHS National STD Program works to improve STD screening rates and enhance prevention efforts to reduce the impact of sexually transmitted diseases in Indian Country.
