IHS Celebrates National Women's Health Week

Every May beginning on Mother’s Day, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health leads National Women’s Health Week. This observance aims to highlight women’s health issues and priorities and encourage women of all ages to prioritize their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

2024 Theme: Empowering Women, Cultivating Health: Celebrating Voices, Wellness, and Resilience

This year’s theme is dedicated to empowering women to take charge of their health journeys and shining a light on health issues unique to women. At the Indian Health Service, the health of American Indian and Alaska Native women is one of our greatest priorities. IHS Director Roselyn Tso and Deputy Director for Intergovernmental Affairs Stacey Ecoffey are representing IHS as Women’s Health Week Ambassadors, promoting vital health messages and encouraging community support for the women in their lives.

Please join us this week as we help shine a light on health issues and priorities affecting women across the lifespan. Together, we can empower and uplift women with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.
