Congressional and Legislative Affairs

Congressional and Legislative Affairs is a key component of the Indian Health Service Office of the Director. Functions of Congressional and Legislative Affairs include:

  • Reviewing proposed and pending legislation for the impact it might have on IHS funded programs.
  • Acting as the point of contact for congressional offices and is called upon by those offices to provide technical assistance.
  • Present briefings on IHS programs and issues facing the agency.
