Colorectal cancer- cancer of the colon or rectum - affects both men and women. Colorectal cancers are the third most common type of cancer in the United States, and are the third leading cause of cancer death. 

Cervical cancer is a disease caused by cancer cells growing in the cervix. The cervix is located in the lower part of the uterus or womb.

 Pneumococcal disease kills more people in the United States each year than all other vaccine-preventable diseases combined. Pneumococcal infection causes an estimated 40,000 deaths annually in the US. 

Cold and flu season is upon us once again. The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by viruses. It can be mild or severe, and in some cases, lead to serious complications or even death.

September brings fall, the start of a new school year and the National "5 A Day" month, which celebrates the benefits of fruits and vegetable consumption. 

August is recognized as National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The goal of NIAM is to increase awareness about immunizations across the lifespan, from the very young children to the elderly. 

The purpose of Men's Health Week is to heighten awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.
