Activity: Architectural

Keyword: Lockers / Break Area

CSO No.:N/A – Planning Criteria

Background:
There are no staff locker / break areas in many of the large medical and dental departments at ANMC.

Lessons Learned:
In a large Health Center / Hospital, location of the staff lockers is important. A central staff locker / break area may be on the other side of the building, far away from the staff entrance to the department and may be impractical to access and use. This was the case for the Dental Department at the ANMC.

Recommended Action:
Make a practical analysis of the location and efficacy of central staff locker / break area rooms vs. locating the locker / break area within the department.

Location:
ANMC – Anchorage, AK

Program: IHSAA/ANMC
