Activity: Architectural

Keyword: Vinyl

CSO No.:9950

Background:
After 5 years of use the vinly wall covering in waiting rooms have been destroyedbecause of chair backs and waiting patients.

Lessons Learned:
If vinly wall covering is to be used adequate protection must be provided to maintain the covering for a longer life. If economic measures reduce wall guards or chair rails, vinyl should not continue to be in the design.

Recommended Action:
The designer should recognize the traffic and wear anticipated in high volume areas and make necessary design recommendations.

Location:
Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital

Program: Various waiting rooms and inpatient rooms
