The new hospital will serve the Alaska Natives located in the service area of the Arctic Slope Native Corporation in Barrow, Alaska, and will be approximately 9,300 gross square meters. Design began in FY 05 for the 12 bed acute care facility and was funded entirely by the Denali Commission. Construction began in 2008 will be funded by the IHS. The project is scheduled for completion in 2013. The total project cost is between $130 to $170 million.
