The new health center for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in Eagle Butte, South Dakota will be approximately 12,870 gross square meters and will replace the existing hospital. The project will include 133 staff quarters. Design of the health center was completed under a 638 Title I contract with the Tribe, which was awarded in December 2005. The design was completed in April of 2008. Construction of the health center initiated in August 2008 under a 638 Title I contract with the Tribe. Construction of the quarters units initiated in May of 2010. Completion of the health center and quarters units is scheduled for the fall of 2011. Funding in the amount of $84,500,000 was provided from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA. The total project cost is between $95 to $125 million.
