This health care facility, located on Annette Island in southeast Alaska, which is accessible only by boat or plane, was completed in April of 2006. The 3,250 gross square meter facility provides ambulatory health care, dental, 24-hour emergency care, radiology, physical therapy, contract health, and optometry care programs. The site has unique soil conditions containing muskeg type soils, which required much of the site to be over excavated and backfilled with structural material available from a quarry located on the island. The project also included 6 staff quarters consisting of 3 duplex units.
