EDR FAQ

How much does EDR cost?

Sites that participate in the national EDR Project will be responsible for only a portion of the total cost of the deployment of EDR at their site[s]. The cost to be borne by the site represents 100% of all hardware costs [servers, tape drives, etc.] and 50% of the cost of software and labor. Estimated total costs are as follows:

Hardware = approx $15,000
Software = approx $15,000 per site
Labor = approx $30,000

IHS funding for EDR implementation is limited each year. Sites that do not want to wait for IHS funded implementation and are willing to support EDR implementation with their own funds may do so using the IHS contract. A site specific cost estimate can be obtained by contacting the EDR Project Manager at IHSEDR@ihs.gov.
