Summary:

This course will cover endodontic diagnosis, tooth morphology, emergency treatment, instrumentation techniques [including balanced forces and multiple rotary systems], lateral and warm vertical obturation techniques, management of traumatic injuries, failure, retreatment and surgical procedures, and endodontic troubleshooting.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Specify implications and limitations of diagnostic procedures.
2. Identify tooth morphological problems often related to complications and failures.
3. Provide proper management of endodontic emergencies, including limited surgical treatment, modern instrumentation sequencing, techniques, and instrument systems.
4. Use an apex locator.
5. Improve skills with lateral and warm vertical condensation techniques, and know when to use different instrumentation techniques.
6. Discuss diagnosis and management of luxations, avulsions, root and crown fractures.
7. Diagnose and manage endodontic failures and restoration of endodontically treated teeth [including bonding agents, pins and posts].
8. Avoid and manage common trouble areas in endodontics including short-rooted teeth, short and long fills, and perforations.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
