Summary:

The purpose of this four session course is to give IHS Dental Hygienists the background and resources needed to provide clinical and community dental hygiene services in an IHS setting.

Part 2: Clinical Dental Hygiene Services II: October 9, 2013-Lori Goodman
This session covers procedures for advanced clinical dental hygiene services that may be offered at any IHS dental clinics. There will be an emphasis on managing periodontal programs, local anesthesia, and risk based recall. There will be an emphasis on applying dental public health principles.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Describe the process of designing and evaluating a community based dental program.
2. Use IHS reports to monitor clinical dental hygiene services.
3. Describe risk based recall.
Part 2.
1. Describe caries stabilization, and the rationale behind it.
2 Define risk based recall.
3. Explain how the patient scheduling process works.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
