Summary:

The purpose of this session is to introduce the participant to the infection control principles and best practices pertaining to sterilization and disinfection of patient care items as well as dental unit waterlines, in accordance with the CDC guidelines. The course will include clinical data analysis, personnel training, and problem solving.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

1. Identify proper steps of instrument processing.
2. Discuss the proper flow of central processing areas.
3. List the benefits of various practices related to instrument processing and water line maintenance that can help you increase efficiency and safety in your clinic.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
