Summary:

The Anchorage Dental Study Group will meet 1 hour every 2 months [9 hours/year]. The group will consist of dentists and dental hygienists. Continuing dental education will be provided by the study group participants in one of the following formats:
1. Journal article presentations
2. Clinical case presentations
3. Dental seminars
4. Guest speaker presentations
This session will focus on sleep apnea. The purpose of this lecture is to give dentists a better understanding of sleep apnea how best to manage these patients. The course will include an overview of the signs of sleep apnea and how to properly diagnose the condition along with different treatment options available.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify the signs of sleep apnea and other risk factors usually present.
2. Determine why an overnight sleep study is required for proper diagnosis.
3. Discuss the different treatment appliances available to help control sleep apnea.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
