The Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP)
The Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP), established by the Department of Defense (DoD), is the Federal government's centrally funded accommodations program. CAP provides assistive technology and related services, free of charge, for individuals with visual, hearing, dexterity, and cognitive disabilities.
The CAP mission: "... is to ensure that people with disabilities and wounded service members have equal access to the information environment and opportunities in the Department of Defense (DOD) and throughout the Federal government. By fulfilling the mission of providing real solutions for real needs, CAP is helping to make the Federal government the model employer for people with disabilities."

Department of Labor Veteran's EmploymentThe U.S. Department of Labor announced the availability of a new online toolkit to guide employers through the process for hiring veterans. The free toolkit is designed to assist and educate employers who have made the proactive decision to include veterans and wounded warriors in their recruitment and hiring initiatives.

Veterans PreferenceThis gives eligible veterans preference in appointment over many other applicants. Veterans preference applies to virtually all new appointment in both the competitive and excepted service. Disabled veterans receive 10 points regardless of their disability rating.
