THE DISCRIMINATION COMPLAINT PROCEDURES
The Indian Health Service practices zero tolerance for harassment and discrimination in all forms. We are committed to providing a workplace in which the dignity of every individual is respected. Any unprofessional or disrespectful behavior, even if it does not rise to the level of "Harassment," interferes with that goal and will not be tolerated.
Any person who believes that he or she has been subjected to or witnessed harassment in violation of the Indian Health Policy on Harassment and Discrimination should report the matter promptly to his/her first-line or second-line supervisor, to another official in his/her command, or, online through e-File (The new EEO Online Filing System) and submit your forms and supporting documentation, directly to your Regional Manager/EEO Specialist/EEO Contacts.

Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Officers detailed to the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard, remain subject to the law of the armed Forces to which detailed. EEO complaints filed by these officers will be processed in accordance with the procedures of the service to which detailed.
At an officer's request, every effort will be made to resolve all allegations relating to discrimination through an informal process. Officers should seek informal resolution as soon as possible. Officers have 60 days after an offending incident or occurrence in which to reach an informal resolution, or to file a formal complaint. This time period may be extended to the EEO Officer if it appears that the case is nearing resolution. Although officers and applicants are encouraged to seek informal resolution, they are not required to do so before filing a formal complaint. This process if detailed in the INSTRUCTION.
