Course is a 2.5 day overview of what Facility Managers and Safety Officers need to know to fully comply with the Joint Commission Environment of Care standards and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care [AAAHC] Facilities and Environment standards. Students will receive information on survey types and methodologies for each of the accrediting bodies. Participants will receive a student handbook filled with lecture notes and valuable reference materials. Hands-on activities in developing a Hazard Vulnerability Analysis and in Establishing/Measuring Performance Standards augment the classroom sessions. To receive CEUs, entire session must be attended and pre- and post-course assessments completed. |
| Learning Outcomes: |
1] Describe the survey process, scoring and preparation for Joint Commission and AAAHC surveys. 2] Identify the Joint Commission "Four Survey Vulnerabilities". 3] Simulate the Joint Commission and AAAHC survey process using preparation checklists. 4] Explain how the accreditation surveyors interpret and apply the standards. 5] Create an effective program that is "continuously compliant" and meets regulatory compliance and performance improvement standards. |
