This is a beginner level course for new AutoCAD 2012 users. The Fundamentals course covers essential core topics that will enable the user to create and edit a simple drawing, and then continue to develop those tools. This course can be used as a pre-requisite for the AutoCAD – Intermediate/Advanced course and the AutoCAD Civil 3D Fundamentals course. Topics include AutoCAD workspace and user interface, basic drawing, editing, and view tools, layers, blocks, plotting, text, hatching, and dimensions. Note: IHS SFC staff has registration priority. |
| Learning Outcomes: |
• Use basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools • Organize drawing objects on layers • Insert reusable symbols [blocks] • Prepare a layout to be plotted • Insert text, hatching, and dimensions to a basic drawing |

Registrants should have a working knowledge of basic design/drafting procedures and terminology, Windows 2000, XP, or 7, and access to AutoCAD 2012 outside of the classroom |
