PROJECT MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP [PM FUNDAMENTALS WITH SFC PMPRO]

Description: Participants are introduced via short lectures to fundamental project management tools, techniques and concepts, including: Project Charter/Scope, Work Breakdown Structure, Network Diagram, Project Estimation, Critical Path, Gantt/Bar Chart, Resource Planning, Risk Management, Status, Control, and teambuilding. Participants get to practice and develop their project management skills by managing a computer simulation of a realistic business project. The SFC Project Management Program [PMPro] Guideline will be integrated where appropriate and applicable. In addition, there will be a one-day session that will teach key functions and features of Microsoft Project to plan, track and monitor projects and a ½ day session on Time Management.
Learning Outcomes: • Learn and practice project management fundamentals for planning and managing a project from beginning to end • Recognize the relationship of the SFC PMPro to industry standard project management practice. • Learn key functions and features of Microsoft Project • Evaluate how individual time is spent and identify changes that could influence time efficiencies
