This course is designed for engineering, inspection and construction personnel working under the OSHA construction standards. Topics include an introduction to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the “General Duty Clause”, OSHA recordkeeping requirements, inspections, competent person, electrical safety, fall protection, personal protective equipment, hand and power tools, excavation and shoring, walking and working surfaces, stairways and ladders, and confined space entry permit. Students can obtain the 10 Hour OSHA Card for the Construction Industry by attending this course. |

• Explain the importance of construction safety • Attain a general awareness of recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site • List the leading hazards that cause 90 of injuries and deaths • List the elements of a confined space entry permit program. • Recognize the OSHA requirements for trenching and shoring |
