SPRINKLERS, FIRE ALARMS, AND EMERGENCY POWER CODES

Description: This is a 2-day seminar focused on reviewing on sprinkler systems [NFPA 13 & 25], fire alarm systems [NFPA 72], and emergency power systems [NFPA 110]. This class will provide a refresher of the code requirements., including requirements for inspection, testing, and maintenance of these systems. Bemidji Area Facilities is sponsoring this training and prior approval from BEM Area may be required for attendance.
Learning Outcomes: Attendees will be able to: 1. locate requirements for when sprinklers are required. 2. define the four types of sprinkler systems. 3. locate requirements for installing sprinklers. 4. identify the basic parts of a sprinkler system. 5. locate requirements for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of sprinkler systems. 6. locate requirements for when fire alarm systems, smoke detection systems, and smoke alarms are required. 7. identify the basic parts of a fire alarm system. 8. locate requirements for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of fire alarm systems. 9. locate requirements for when an emergency generator is required. 10. locate requirements for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of emergency generator systems. 11. explain the differences between inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire systems.
