Sioux San
Appointment
Policy

After careful review of the comments, suggestions, and recommendations made by the Pennington County and surrounding area consumers, the Sioux San administrative staff members chose to offer an alternative appointment system. This mechanism will ensure equitable access to the Sioux San Hospital, not only for Pennington County patients but also for those living outside of the Service Delivery Area.

Effective July 30, 2001, Sioux San Hospital has a Same Day/Same Week Appointment system:

The appointment clerk will make appointments a maximum of 20 working days (one month) in advance for morning appointments only.

Afternoon appointments will be scheduled only on the current day. (Example…No PM appointments can be scheduled for the following day or further out.)

Patients are required to sign in 20 minutes prior to the appointment time. If the patient is late, they may have the option of rescheduling or signing in as a walk-in.

This system will continue to be monitored and evaluated to ensure patient access is not compromised and that patient appointments are handled in the most effective and efficient manner.

Appointments may be made by contacting the Appointment Desk at (605) 355-2350
