Sioux San Hosptial Nursing department provides high quality client centered nursing care that is responsive to the individual, family and community needs through use of available human and material resources.
Nursing services are provided to the following direct patient care areas: Inpatient, Mental Health, Outpatient, Emergency Room, Specialty Clinics, General Medical, Pediatrics, and Central Supply.
Twenty-four (24) hour coverage is provided to the inpatient units (Medical and Mental Health), as well as to the Emergency Room. The nursing staff have been cross-trained to cover all of the patient care areas, whcih has led to more consistent coverage and greater staff satisfaction.
Goals and Objectives
- Provide holistic and competant care to our community, both inpatient and outpatient.
- Committed to continuing staff education through utilization of local training and accredited colleges, both short-term and long-term.
- Continue to have nursing staff serve as preceptors for Registered Nursing and Licensed Practical Nursing students.
- Continue to have nursing training programs using Sioux San Hospital for student experiences.
- Provide support to hospital wide committees addressing patient and hospital concerns.
- Continue to participate in hospital functions, serving as ongoing patient advocates.
- Respond to community health needs.
- To provide a "safe" environment for staff to be nutured, to grow, and to voice concerns.

- Seventeen (17) Registered Nurse - Full time.
- Eight (8) Licensed Practical Nurse - Full time.
- Two (2) Nursing Assistant - Full time.
- Two (2) Medical Support Technician - Full time.
- One (1) Medical Supply Technician - Full time.
