  The Pharmacy Program at Sioux San Hosptial strives to follow the I.H.S. Standards of Practice and to provide the highest quality of services possible.  The Pharmacy assures appropriateness of medication therapy, assure medication availability, distribution, and control for safe and appropriate care of patients.   The Pharmacy provides consultation to verify patients understand their medications and outcomes of medication therapy.  The pharmacy provides education not only to patients, but to staff relating to medication therapy.  The pharmacy helps manage medication therapy in selected groups of patients per defined protocols establish with medical staff.

  All medication orders are screened for interactions, adverse drug reactions, contraindications, appropriate dosing, and cost effective therapy.  

Outpatient Pharmacy
Hours of Operation are 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday thru Friday

  Patients are counseled on their medications for refills and new prescriptions, medication information is provided for new prescriptions and upon patient request.  

Inpatient Pharmacy
Hours of Operation are 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday thru Friday, 8:00AM thru Noon Saturday and Sunday, and a pharmacist always on call.

  Services consist of unit dose and IV admixture, pharmacokinetics, consultations, medication therapy review, and counseling on discharge medications.

  The outpatient and inpatient pharmacies are involved in Drug Utilization Evaluations, formulary review, Performance Improvement activities, monthly controlled substances inventories, monitoring medication errors, and pharmacy logs required by the I.H.S. standards as well as state and federal laws.

  • One (1)    Pharmacy Technologist - Temporary full time.
