  The Social Work Program seeks to provide quality and culturally appropriate clinical social work services to the American Indian population of Pennington County, South Dakota.  The overall purpose is to assist clients to maintain, regain, or enhance their biopsychosocial and spiritual level of functioning.

  Clincal social work services are provided to general medicine inpatients at Sioux San Hospital, and outpatients living in Pennington County.

    Social Services Offered:
  • Assistance with Nursing Home Placement.
  • Discharge Planning.
  • Home Health Equipment and Supplies.
  • Patient Education.
  • Alcohol/Drug Evaluations.
  • Complete Intake Assessments on all clients referred for Mental Health couseling/therapy.
  • Individual, couple, family, and group couseling/therapy.
  • Information and Referrals are available for the following:
    • Housing
    • Transportation
    • Meals on Wheels
    • Hospice Program
    • Phone calls if health-related
    • Child Protection Advocate
    • Elder Protection Advocate
