General Information:
- The Clinic and Maintenance Building were constructed under a single Tribal contract
- Initial design was started in 2000
- Construction began in February 2002 and was completed in March 2003
- The Clinic is owned by the Hualapai Tribe and leased to the IHS
- The Maintenance Building is owned by the Government
- IHS staff assisted with all aspects of the project; including design, construction inspection, and equipment installation
Ambulatory Care Clinic:
- Total design and construction cost: $2,250,000
- Funding provided by three HUD Community Development Block Grants ($750,000 each)
- Total Size: 17,500 square feet
- IHS provided $192,600 in Congressionally appropriated equipment funding
- In addition, Parker Service Unit provided approximately $500,000 for additional equipment (dental, medical, laboratory and radiology)
- The new clinic is approximately four times the size of the old IHS clinic
IHS Maintenance Building:
- The Maintenance Building is owned by the Government
- Hualapai Tribe constructed the building under a PL 93-638 (Subpart J) construction contract with IHS
- Total design and construction cost: $230,000
- Total size: 2,400 square feet
- The new Maintenance Building is approximately twice the size of the old IHS trailer used for maintenance
