Health Services:

Warm Springs Health and Wellness Center

Warm Springs Service Unit

Welcome to the Warm Springs Health and Wellness Center. The Health and Wellness Center is a primary care clinic that is dedicated to providing quality healthcare to all eligible Native Americans in the Warm Springs Service Unit Area. As part of that dedication, we are presently accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. We provide medical, dental, optometry pharmacy, nutrition, public health nursing, laboratory and radiology services. In addition, we also offer healthcare through the specialty clinic in the fields of cardiology, rheumatology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, audiology, podiatry, renal, endodontics, oral surgery, ultrasound and ENT (ears, nose and throat).

Aside from providing general and specialty healthcare, the Health and Wellness Center is involved in numerous health promotional programs that encourage our patients to be active participants in their own healthcare and issues within the healthcare field. Some examples of these are the Diabetes walk, Women of Warm Springs (WOW), Kids Clinic Fun Day, and conducting health fairs and screenings for the community.

The Health and Wellness Center currently employs 113 individuals, Civil and Commissioned Corp, which in the year of 2004 saw 5,295 patients resulting in 59,010 visits. With the ever growing patient population this service unit area serves, we are currently in the process of expanding our service unit to accommodate their healthcare needs.

Of special note, the Health and Wellness Center also offers unique opportunities for residents, student and employees to be involved in patient programs that not only benefit the community, but allows the participants to fulfill educational requirements. Examples include the Pharmacy Residency Program, establishing a special clinic day for the elderly and educational efforts regarding domestic violence issues.

Located in the plateaus and river valleys of northern Jefferson County, Warm Springs offers a wide variety of outdoor experiences. Lake Billy Chinook lies to the southern border, while the western and northwestern borders back up against the scenic beauty of the Cascade Mountains. Fishing, camping, hiking, boating, rafting, skiing and golfing are some of the outdoor activities this area has to offer. Most of these activities are within reasonable driving distance from Warm Springs. Individuals are welcomed to immerse themselves in the culture of Warm Springs by either visiting the Museum at Warm Springs or by attending cultural events held throughout the year.
