Environmental Health Services
Environmental health falls under the umbrella of public health, a branch of medicine focused on the primary prevention of illnesses and injuries. Indeed, the successful outcome of a physician's efforts and those of an environmental health officer is the same: a well person. The practice of environmental health focuses on controlling, or preventing exposure to, those hazardous agents that are found throughout the physical environment.
There are three branches of environmental health practiced at the Billings Area Office:
General Environmental Health;
Institutional Environmental Health; and
Community Injury Prevention and Control.
