National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month - GUIDING OUR DESTINY WITH HERITAGE AND TRADITION: Leading the Way to Healthier Nations - November 2013
2013 Poster

What began at the turn of the century as an effort to gain a day of recognition for the significant contributions of this nation's First Americans led to the designation of the month of November as National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month.

November is now recognized as a time when millions of Americans learn more about the living heritage, art, history, and traditions of American Indians and Alaska Natives. The HHS theme for 2013 is "Guiding Our Destiny with Heritage and Tradition; Leading the Way to Healthier Nations."
