AUTHORITY DELEGATED

Pursuant to the requirements under Title 45, Code of Federal Regulation (CFR), Part 46, “Protection of Human Research Subjects,” I hereby delegate to the Chief Medical Officer, Indian Health Service (IHS) and the Director, Office of Public Health Support, the authority to act as the IHS Assurance Signatory Official(s) for the Department of Health and Human Services Federal-wide Assurance (FWA) for the Protection of Human Subjects for Domestic Institutions.

AUTHORITY TO REDELEGATE

This authority may not be redelegated.

RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS

This authority shall be exercised in accordance with 45 CFR 46.
This authority shall be exercised only when an amendment to the original FWA is made and the amendment must be signed by the designated IHS signatory official.
All human subjects research conducted under the FWA requires the approval of an IHS Institutional Review Board (IRB).

SUPERSEDURE

None.

EFFECTIVE DATE

This delegation is effective on the date of signature.
