AUTHORITY DELEGATED

Pursuant to the authorities delegated to the Director, Indian Health Service (IHS), as specified in the Reorganization Order of January 4, 1988 (52 Federal Register 47053), which elevated the IHS to a Public Health Service (PHS) Agency, I hereby delegate to the Deputy Director for Management Operations and the Director, Office of Management Services, the authority to collect from former commissioned officers of the PHS indebtedness to the Government incurred as a result of failure to complete a period of obligatory service under the authority of:

42 United States Code (U.S.C.) 218a(b) Training Outside the PHS
37 U.S.C. 311 Continuation Pay
37 U.S.C. 313 Variable Incentive Pay

AUTHORITY TO REDELEGATE

This authority may not be redelegated.

RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS

This authority will be exercised in accordance with Personnel Instruction 1, Subchapter CC22.9 of the Commissioned Corps Personnel Manual, as well as applicable statutory, regulatory, policy, and procedural requirements.

SUPERSESSION

This delegation supersedes the previous delegation of authority located in the Indian Health Manual, Commissioned Corps Delegation #1, dated July 11, 1990.

EFFECTIVE DATE

This delegation is effective on the date of signature.
