BACKGROUND:

This chapter establishes general policy, staff responsibilities, operating relationships, standards and guidelines for implementation of the Indian Health Service (IHS) Mental Health Program services.  It sets forth the procedures and guidelines for the IHS Mental Health Program regarding acceptable parameters of services and activities.

This chapter supersedes Indian Health Manual, Part 3, Professional Services, Chapter 14, Mental Health Programs, TN 87-1, dated March 30, 1987.


MANUAL MAINTENANCE:

Remove the March 30, 1987 version of the Indian Health Manual, Part 3, Professional Services, Chapter 14, Mental Health Programs and replace it with this revised Chapter.

Log in and file the Transmittal Notice in sequence.
