BACKGROUND:

This transmittal forwards the attached Delegation of Authority Memoranda, Subject: Delegation of Authority to Determine when Term Appointments are Appropriate.  This authority was changed by the Public Health Service to allow further redelegation by Agency Personnel Officers.

MATERIAL TRANSMITTED:

Indian Health Manual, Part 1, Chapter 5 - Delegations of Authority:  Subject: Delegation of Authority to Determine when Term Appointments are Appropriate (Personnel Delegation #34), Memorandum from Director, Indian Health Service (IHS), to the Director of Headquarters Operations (DHO), dated May 24, 1994; and Memorandum from the DHO, to the Associate Director, Office of Human Resources, dated May 24, 1994.


MATERIAL SUPERSEDED:

This delegation supersedes the subject delegation of authority covered by a Memorandum Blanket Delegation of Authority to the DHO from the Director, IHS, dated September 21, 1989; and the Delegation of Authority Memorandum, Subject:  To Determine when Term Appointments are Appropriate, from the DHO to the Associate Director, Office of Administration and Management, dated January 1, 1991.


MANUAL MAINTENANCE:

File the attached memorandum in the Indian Health Manual, Part 1, Chapter 5, Delegations of Authority, and in the master Copy Delegations of Authority.

Log in and file the Transmittal Notice in sequence.
