WHO MAY APPLY:
The purpose of this announcement is to provide for competitive selection procedures for making temporary details or temporary promotions for current Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service Employees ONLY to positions with greater promotion potential than the position currently occupied. Details to higher graded positions or temporary promotions are made under circumstances where consideration is established to assign current employees of the Aberdeen Area to positions where this a temporary need, i.e. permanent position vacant employee on extended sick leave LWOP etc… When the services area no longer needed, employee will revert back to his/her original position. These are temporary assignments. Duration of detail or temporary promotion made from this announcement will vary from two [2] weeks to one [1] year, and may be extended in specific situations. As a general rule the assignment will generally be made from one to three months. Outside non-Indian Preference candidates will not be considered when using special areas of consideration. Permanent appointments will not be made from this announcement. In addition, this announcement does not limit management consideration only to applicants applying under this announcement. Other methods of assignment may be used as permitted under the Merit Promotion Program Guidelines.
