Basic qualifications to be considered for any of the medical health care positions with the Navajo Area Indian Health service are you must be a U.S. Citizen and have a non-restricted license. In addition, to qualify for Medical Technology positions you must have a Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology that included or was supplemented by at least 16 semester hours of biologic science of which 1 course was in microbiology and 1 course was in immunology; 16 semester hours of chemistry of which 1 course was in organic or biochemistry; and 3 semester hours of college mathematics OR a full 4-year course of study that included or was supplemented by at least 12 months in a college or hospital based medical technology program or medical technology school approved by a recognized accrediting organization. If you qualify you need to send me a resume’ via fax or email (in a Microsoft Word document format). Include a cover letter which includes 3 professional references and their phone numbers that can be checked. I will FAX out your resume’ to all of our facilities for consideration. If you are sending me this information by EMAIL please put "Cover Letter and CV" in the subject line. I am often out of the office for an extended period of time and it will expedite the dissemination of your information and application.
Once I receive your CV, I send it out to the various hospitals. If interested they will contact you with the specifics of your specialty, responsibilities, schedules, housing, pay and benefits. I am sending you the normal response to inquiry and hope to hear from you soon.
A cover letter stating what you are looking for, when you will be available or any other pertinent historical information is often of help in better selling yourself to the facilities. You should allow 2-3 weeks for review before expecting someone to contact you personally.
