Notes:
We have a locum position open in our Grass Valley clinic providing primary care to program patients in an outpatient basis. There is no OB or hospital call.
A well qualified candidate will possess a current California medical license and be board eligible/certified in family medicine [pediatric/internal medicine specialties will be considered if the applicant possesses a broad experiential background]. Experience in a primary care clinical practice [with emphasis on preventive care], and experience with cross-cultural health care.
We have a comprehensive program that provides medical, dental and community services [mental/behavioral health, smoking cessation, prenatal education, etc.] to primarily a Native American population in the surrounding counties. We also serve patients with no insurance, Medi-Cal and Medicare. Our population benefits greatly from education and we therefore typically have much more time with each patient than one might find in an HMO or private practice setting.
As a non-profit community clinic serving a primarily Native American population in the surrounding counties, Chapa-De Indian Health Program, Inc. offers a comprehensive array of services including, but not limited to, Behavioral Health, Optometry, Pharmacy, Chiropractic, Podiatry and Dental. The Staff Physician is responsible for providing primary health care services consistent with accepted medical practices, training, accreditation standards and the philosophy of Chapa-De Indian Health Program, Inc.
