Welcome to the Loan Repayment Program (LRP) Web site

The cost of a health professional education is high. The LRP provides the financial freedom to pursue the future you've envisioned for yourself: a career with purpose and a sense of mission while treating patients who truly need you.

The IHS is an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services responsible for providing health care services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. The mission of IHS is to raise the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level.

The LRP awards up to $20,000 per year for the repayment of qualifying health professions education loans. Award recipients agree to a two-year obligation to practice at an Indian health program site.
