The IHS Division of Oral Health is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider
The purpose of this three-day meeting is to provide dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants with dental information/education that they will be able to use in their daily practice.
Upon completion of this meeting, the participant will be able to: 1. Identify tools and community resources to deal with addictions in the workplace. 2. Facilitate prevention of progression of tooth wear. 3. State basic treatment planning for the special needs patient. 4. List factors effecting selection of posterior restoratives. 5. Take impressions to completion with a perfect gypsum pour. 6. Relate national changes in the Alaska Medicaid program as it relates to adult and children's dental services. 7. Screen and identify at least three indicators of abuse. 8. Explain the mechanism of action and safety of chemotherapeutics to parents. 9. Demonstrate use of oxygen, oral airways and other emergency equipment. 10. Identify at least four systemc disorders associated with periodontitis. 11. Describe effective advice in motivating a patient. 12. List risk factors for dental caries in preschool children.

Tuition Payment Information:
Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at
least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course.
If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
