Summary:

This three-day course is designed as an advanced continuation of "Orientation to Dental Assisting Part 1." The course will provide hands-on experience for participants to learn and practice skills such as 4-handed dentistry, dental dam application, and sealant application. In adddition, there will be a review of infection control procedures and radiology health and safety practices. Participants can expect pre-course communication and assignments.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Demonstrate how to apply dental dam effectively.
2. Describe the concepts and perform 4-handed dentistry.
3. Recognize the importance of infection control.
4. Perform basic chairside assisting skills.
5. Prepare/mix commonly used dental materials.
6. Explain the importance of dental radiation safety.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
