The IHS Division of Oral Health is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider
The 2012 Billings Area Prevention Coordinators meeting will provide an opportunity for participants to gain a better understanding of how to utilize Basic Screening and Survey data in the development of program plans for the Early Childhood Caries Initiative and Early/Head Start Programs. The participants will learn techniques to enhance leadership and communication skills in building effective community-based oral health prevention programs.

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to: 1. Describe the oral health status of AIAN children. [Phipps] 2. Describe the current research and best practices to prevent ECC in AIAN communities, and develop objectives and activities to prevent ECC in local communities. [Phipps] 3. List and describe tools to improve leadership skills in AIAN communities. [Bruerd] 4. Use current Head Start PIR data and Best Practice models to develop local plans to improve the oral health of Head Start children. [Bruerd]
Building Collaborative Community Relationships through Social Media [Gust]: 1. Identify social media and other methods for community outreach. 2. List resources to create Health Promotion/Disease Prevention collaborations in communities.

Tuition Payment Information:
Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at
least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course.
If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
