Summary:

The goal of this course is to review the guidelines for infection control in the Dental Health Care Setting. The course will be an overview of the basic principals of infection control based on the CDC Guidelines-2003.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Define why infection control is important in dentistry.
2. Discuss the personal health elements of an infection control program.
3. Identify the potential routes of transmission of blood borne pathogens.
4. Discuss the various practices that help to prevent the transmission of disease.
5. Describe reactions associated with frequent hand hygiene and glove use.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
