IHS MIP logo The logo was designed to represent the many aspects of the Radiology and Medical Imaging services available under one heading.

The x-ray tube as the source of our growing profession. The divergent x-ray beam pointing toward the various services available under radiology or medical imaging.

Overall the beam gives the illusion of a teepee providing a protective umbrella for the Native American population under its shelter. This is an allegory that means the Native American population should utilize the medical sources available for them. Radiology or Medical Imaging services, when indicated, provided an important role in their overall health care program.
