The Chickasaw Nation Health System is made up of Carl Albert Indian Health Facility
located in Ada and four outlying clinics in Purcell, Tishomingo, Durant, and
Ardmore. The Chickasaw Nation Health System provides services to over 40,000
Native Americans in south central Oklahoma. In Fiscal Year 2007, there
were 339,449 outpatient visits across all facilities, and 2,603 inpatient visits
and 2,308 pharmacy therapeutic visits at Carl Albert.
Rotational Experience opportunities:
Pharmacy-based anticoagulation and lipid clinics, diabetes education, pharmacokinetics,
drug information, hypertension, journal club, community pharmacy, and administration.
Special features:
Ada is located 81 miles from Oklahoma City and 133 miles from Dallas, Texas,
so it provides the advantages of small town life, but big-city amenities are
just a short drive away. Ada is home to Wintersmith park for year round
enjoyment. Ada also has a country club for golf and tennis fans.
