Facility:
Whiteriver is a 45 bed JCAHO accredited facility providing ambulatory and inpatient
services for the 13,000 members of the White Mountain Apache Tribe and 4,000
Native Americans from other tribes living in the surrounding area. The
facility receives over 120,000 ambulatory care visits and 2,000 admissions annually. In
addition, 50 miles from Whiteriver is the Cibeque clinic which provides health
services to the 1,400 patients living in the communities of Cibeque and Carrizo.
Rotational Experiences:
Provide clinical services in pharmacy managed anticoagulation, hyperlipidemia,
erythropoietin for chronic kidney disease, innovations in planned care, dialysis
center, and diabetes clinic. The resident will also have experiences in
administration, infectious disease, internal medicine, kinetics, disease prevention/health
promotion, and emergency medicine.
Special features:
Since 1989, Whiteriver Indian Health Hospital has had an established ASHP accredited
residency program. We are located in the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona
surrounded by lakes and pine trees. During the summer seasons, many people
come for the cool weather and during the winter, people come for the wonderful
skiing opportunities here at the Sunrise ski resort.
