Centers of Excellence

 

        Expert diagnostic and consultation services can be offered via telemedicine from centralized Telehealth Centers of Excellence. These centers can exist in a single geographic location - where specialist recruitment and retention is easier - or they can exist via a distributed store-and-forward service that links specialists to primary care teams according to a pre-set schedule of specialist availability. Such approaches to specialist service delivery represent a new model of cost-effective access to care.
