RRM Module: Health Education

Overview:
The RRM Health Education staffing module estimates the requirements for public health educators to provide health education technical assistance; arrange, organize, and conduct educational activities; conduct education activities; develop/provide educational materials; and conduct educational studies. The workload parameter that is the key variable in the staffing estimation is service population. This module estimates the need for Public Health Educators.

Services Description:
The Health Education module is based on task analysis performed by the health education staff for the five outputs/services:

  • Provision of Health Education Technical Assistance
  • Arranging and Organizing Educational Activities
  • Conducting Education Activities
  • Developing/Providing Educational Materials
  • Conducting Educational Studies

    Staffing Criteria:
    Community/Public Health Educator staff of 1.00 FTE for populations of 1,000 or more, plus 1.00 FTE
    Community/Public Health Educator for every 4,000 Service Population above 4,000 Service Population, plus:

    • 0.25 FTE if 1-2 Satellite clinics are in service area;
    • 0.25 FTE if 1-2 Elementary Schools, 1-2 Middle Schools, and 1-2 High Schools are in the service area. (minimum six schools in the service area);
    • 0.25 FTE if 1-2 Head Start programs are in the service area;
    • 0.25 FTE if 1 Juvenile Detention Center is in the service area;
    • 0.25 FTE if 1 Youth Regional Treatment Center is in the service area;
    • 0.25 FTE if 1 Nursing Home is in the service area;
    • 0.25 FTE if any single other facility served is more than 50 miles round trip from the main duty station. (This addition is or each facility).
