RRM Module: Facility Maintenance

Overview
The RRM Facility Maintenance staffing module estimates the requirements for maintenance staff to facility repair and maintenance services and daily grounds maintenance services. The workload parameters that are the key variables in the staffing estimation are Average Daily Patient Load, Square Meters of Facility Space, and Hectares of Grounds

Services Description:
Facility maintenance services include:

  • Long-term care and repair of the health facility,
  • On a continuing basis, the maintenance staff handle maintenance problems as they arise and perform routine preventative maintenance, and
  • Daily grounds maintenance such as landscaping and snow removal.

    Staffing Criteria:
    Fixed Hospital Maintenance staff of 2.50 FTEs plus, plus 1.00 FTE Maintenance staff for every 10 ADPL, plus 1.00 FTE Maintenance staff per 3.0 hectares of grounds.

    Fixed Ambulatory Facility Maintenance staff of 0.5 FTEs, plus 1.00 FTE Maintenance staff per 3.0 hectares of grounds.

    1.00 FTE Maintenance staff per 1000 square meters of non-inpatient space in facilities where this space is less than 1,400 square meters. For facilities that have 1,401 to 3,700 square meters of non-inpatient space there is 1.00 FTE Maintenance per 1,200 square meters. For facilities that have greater than 3,701 square meters non-inpatient space there is 1.00 FTE Maintenance for every 1,500 square meters.

    For locations with Quarters:
    1.00 FTE Maintenance staff per 2000 square meters of quarters space.
