Indian Health Service Partnerships Objectives

  • Develop partnerships between the IHS and other Federal Agencies, States, Universities and private sector organizations to enhance health care to American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN).
  • Assist Tribes and Tribal Organizations to develop partnerships with Federal Agencies, States, Universities and private sector organizations to enhance health care to their service population.
  • Work with other Federal Agencies to increase their awareness of AI/AN health status issues and to increase grant awards to AI/AN health care programs.
  • Work with Tribes and Tribal Organizations to improve their ability to compete in the grant process.
  • Maintain an index of partnerships and grants for AI/AN health care.
