Direct Service Tribes Sixth Annual National Meeting

The Sixth Annual National meeting will continue the focus on concerns identified by the Tribal Leaders and the Direct Service Tribes Advisory Committee. In partnership between Tribal Leaders and the IHS, this forum will provide an opportunity to discuss on a level the health issues that impact Indian people served directly by the federally operated health system.

This year’s meeting will focus on Outlook on Indian Health Care, IHS/Tribal Collaboration, Indian Health Care Policy Changes, Legislative/Senate Committee on Indian Affairs Update, Budget Update, Best Practices, Human Resources, Succession Planning & Recruitment, Contract Health Services 101 & 102, Facilities Update, 638 Issues, Tribal Shares and Residuals, Traditional Medicine, Behavioral Health, Environmental Health/Injury Prevention Update and more.

Lodging:
Each individual guest must make their own reservations by calling The Sheraton Oklahoma City at 1-800-325-3535 by Cut-off date of July 30, 2009. To ensure that you receive the group rate you need to identify yourself as participating in the IHS Direct Service Tribes Meeting. The group rate is $83.00 (single occupancy), $113 (double occupancy) + 13.875% per guest per room night. Any reservation requests received after the cut off date will be subject to standard guestroom rates and room type availability. All reservations must have a credit card guarantee or first night’s deposit.
