FEASIBILITY PROJECT TYPE
A study of a specific IHS program or segment of a program to determine if
Tribal management of the program is possible. The study shall present
necessary plans, approach, training and resources required to assume Tribal
management of the program. The study shall include the following
components:

Health needs and health care services assessments that identify
existing health care services and delivery system, program divisibility
issues, health status indicators, unmet needs, volume projections, and demand analysis.

Management analysis of existing management
structures, proposed management structure, implementation plans and
requirements, personal staffing requirements and recruitment barriers.

Financial analysis of historical trends data,
financial projections and new resource requirements for program management
costs, and analysis of potential revenues from Federal/non-Federal sources.

Decision state incorporates findings,
conclusions, and recommendations; the presentation of the study and
recommendations to the governing body for Tribal determination regarding
whether Tribal assumption of program(s) is desirable or warranted.
FUNDING AND PERIOD OF SUPPORT
Up to $70,000 per year*; Limited to one year of funding.
* Amount includes direct and indirect costs.
